The Hague Netherlands / Burlington MA, February 24, 2017 – Cassini has received the distinction to present at the Ophthalmology Futures Asian Forum which is held on March 1st 2017 in Singapore. The event connects scientists, entrepreneurs, physicians, regulators, corporate leaders and venture capitalists to drive innovation within the eye-care market. The global ophthalmology device market is a growth industry with revenues projected to reach USD 58.05 billion by 2021 driven by innovative companies like Cassini.  The meeting will be held at the Pan Pacific Hotel just preceding the 32nd Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) Congress.

Cassini will present an update on how its patented Total Corneal Astigmatism technology enables surgeons to achieve the desired refractive outcomes after cataract surgery. A recent study from Dr. Elizabeth Yeu shows that Cassini achieved 94.0% accuracy within 0.50 D and 74.0% accuracy within 0.25 D postoperative manifest refractive cylinder, compared with 84.0% and 54.0%, respectively, for the Barrett toric calculator. The company will also present how collaborations with leading industry partners such as Leica Microsystems, Lensar, Ophtec and TrueVision, provide synergies by offering a seamlessly connected workflow and thereby allowing for better patient outcomes.

About Cassini

Cassini pioneers smart and superior eye diagnosis solutions that are affordable, fast and user-friendly for care providers worldwide to serve their patients best.

Cassini Total Corneal Astigmatism helps cataract surgeons to better understand corneal properties in order to improve outcomes and increase premium patient volume. Cassini offers a full suite of examinations required for toric and multifocal IOL implantation. This includes corneal topography, mesopic and photopic pupillometry as well as full color photography for diagnostic purpose. The technology employs red, green yellow and IR LEDs that are each positioned in a unique relationship to four of its neighbors, giving each one a ’gps-like’ coordinate. Cassini uses the ray-tracing principle to measure the relative position of each point, using the three different colors as ‘triangulation’ points.
