The Hague, Netherlands – Burlington MA, September 11, 2019 – Cassini, a pioneer in the development of corneal diagnostic solutions, announced today that it will reveal its New Cassini device at the 37th Congress of European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons in Paris. This important product introduction marks the next chapter of product design, with latest camera technology, improved patient comfort and great usability.

Since its launch of Cassini in 2014, the Cassini team has been continuously driving innovation to its unique and patented Color LED ray tracing technology. In 2015, the company introduced Total Corneal Astigmatism (TCA), enabling surgeons to measure the TCA individually per patient prior to surgery. Having the ability to compare the individual measurement to a population average helps surgeons understand whether a patient is a good candidate for premium surgery and thereby helps reduce refractive surprises.

This latest generation Cassini also features reduced illumination during measurements. This reduces patient chair time, improves patient comfort, and enables technicians to obtain even faster measurements.

“We are very proud of our New Cassini” says Joris Vogels, CEO at Cassini Technologies. “With hard work, and tight collaboration with some of the leading cataract clinics in the world, we were able to bring this product to the market. The cutting-edge technology that we have selected for the New Cassini enables us to develop new solutions for the cataract and ocular surface market. It will be the platform for all of our future developments.”

About Cassini®

Cassini pioneers smart and highly accurate corneal diagnostic solutions that are affordable, fast and user-friendly, providing care providers worldwide with advanced technology that best serves their patients.

Cassini helps cataract surgeons to better understand properties of the total corneal in order to improve outcomes and increase premium patient satisfaction and volume. Cassini offers a full suite of examinations required for toric, extended depth of focus and multifocal IOL implantation, including corneal topography, posterior corneal analysis, mesopic and photopic pupillometry and full color photography. The technology employs red, green, yellow and infrared LEDs that are positioned in unique pattern, giving each one a GPS-like coordinate. Cassini employs the ray-tracing principle to measure relative position, using the color LEDs as triangulation points.
