Combination of technologies is expected to advance preoperative surgical planning and practice workflow efficiency
San Francisco, CA, USA (April 17 2013) — TrueVision® 3D Surgical and Cassini® announced today a collaboration designed to integrate the precision measurements of the Cassini® corneal diagnostic device with the TrueVision Refractive Cataract Toolset® surgical guidance system.
By combining these world-class technologies, the two companies continue to advance ophthalmic applications that allow corneal and cataract surgeons to measure astigmatism and deliver patient-specific treatments with digital precision. The Cassini® is the first corneal device to employ breakthrough color LED topography detection, while the TrueVision RC Toolset® offers precise incision alignment and customized lens positioning guidance during cataract surgery.
By removing a step in the pre-surgical cataract work-up, the two systems together can enhance speed and efficiency to shorten the pre-operative patient workflow. Blending the diagnostic accuracy of the Cassini® generated corneal analysis with seamless image transfer to the Refractive Cataract Toolset® will help to optimize patient workflow for cataract surgical practices, as well as provide precise data for use in the TrueVision® computer-guidance surgical applications.
TrueVision® and Cassini® will demonstrate the initial efforts in this collaboration to surgeons at the 2013 American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery in San Francisco, CA, taking place at the Moscone Center on April 20-23. Private demonstration meetings by appointment will take place in meeting room 10 in Hall E/Room 135.
